The hacker group Shiny Hunters breached the FBI and defaced its jobs site, claiming to hold sensitive data on nearly all FBI employees and applicants—and demanding the FBI retract a report about them within one week, all while insisting "this is not extortion" 0:52-1:10.
Key Takeaways:
• Shiny Hunters defaced apply.fbijobs.gov, claiming all FBI data was compromised; the presenter verified a 5,000-line sample with names, addresses, SSNs, assignments, and spouses' info 0:50-1:05, 1:51-2:14.
• The group, active since 2019, has breached Snowflake, PowerSchool, Canvas, and Rockstar Games, and is affiliated with "the Com" 2:32-3:41.
• Their PSA demands the FBI's Q2 2026 flash report be removed within a week—while denying it's extortion, despite plainly meeting the dictionary definition 6:24-8:17, 12:53-13:16.
• Per Bleeping Computer, they claim a new Oracle PeopleSoft zero-day (RCE), are using it against other targets, and said "No comment" on releasing data if ignored 14:32-17:11.
• The presenter's bottom line: leaking agents' and families' data gives the FBI every incentive to hunt them down 17:29-19:11.
This is developing—the presenter plans to see what changes after the one-week deadline 18:59-19:02.

I've received a sample of the breach data, but obviously I can't show that to you. This is all fake data. What I'm showing you here is all synthetic data just so you get a feel and can visualize what this looks like because obviously I just can't show you. But I can personally confirm after going through and verifying the data set, it looks legit. I've looked all across public sources and other information to validate and it's real. Breached FBI data. So, this is still breaking news and I want to tell you the story. So, yesterday I was doom scrolling on Twitter forward/x when I saw this post from my good friend…
