Account Deletion

You can delete your CPEBuddy account yourself from inside the app. This page explains how and what deletion removes. Read the Privacy Policy for a full description of the data CPEBuddy stores.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in and open Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone and choose Delete account.
  3. Type DELETE in the confirmation box and confirm.

You must be signed in to delete your account. The same Settings page is used on the web and in the Android app. Deletion cannot be undone.

What deletion removes

  • Your account record, including your email address, display name, and password hash.
  • Any link between your account and a Google or GitHub sign-in.
  • Your uploaded avatar file. File cleanup runs in the background after the account record is removed, so the file may not disappear at the same instant.
  • All generated CPE records (documents, summaries, domains, and objectives), portfolio credit totals, processing log entries, video and channel submissions, and video ratings keyed to your account.

After deletion, no records keyed to your account remain in CPEBuddy's databases. The shared video catalog, which never contained account data, is unaffected. Deletion is refused while a CPE generation is in progress for your account; retry after it finishes.

Requesting deletion another way

For help with account deletion, email [email protected]. Do not include your password. Sending a request does not automatically delete data; use the self-service steps above to delete your account.
