Source: YouTube · Hack The Box · published Jul 1, 2025 · 25:40
The video introduces Hack the Box's Global Cyber Skills Benchmark CTF, which combines gamified capture-the-flag events with skills assessment to help organizations benchmark their cybersecurity teams and develop targeted training plans 0:02-0:24.
Key Takeaways:
• Hack the Box identified five main challenges in cybersecurity skills benchmarking, including visibility into team skills, tracking different metrics, fear of exposing weaknesses, and limitations in training plans 2:15-2:45.
• There's a needed shift from one-time assessments like certifications to continuous, dynamic skill-based assessments that provide real-world exposure and real-time updates on skill progression 3:00-3:55.
• CTFs serve as both fun team events and opportunities for managers to measure specific skills across technologies, categories, and competencies 4:44-5:02.
• The Hack the Box platform allows easy creation of customized CTF events with pre-built or curated content, AI recommendations, and detailed reporting 7:42-16:55.
• Post-CTF analytics can directly inform targeted training by connecting performance gaps with relevant academy modules in the Hack the Box enterprise platform 19:46-23:13.
Hack the Box's approach transforms cybersecurity skills development from isolated training events to a continuous cycle of assessment, analysis, and targeted improvement 24:19-24:24.
