Pool Party Leads to Teen Girl's Mysterious Death
Source: YouTube · Law&Crime Investigates · published Oct 24, 2026 · 31:15
Maintenance workers find 17-year-old Mercedes Sims dead by a Georgia apartment pool, and the investigation exposes a cover-up by Elijah Foster, her friend's brother 00:14.
Key Takeaways:
• Blood trails, used condoms, and clothing pointed to a crime scene; the complex had no security cameras 01:44
• Mercedes's Snapchat showed she snuck out to meet a friend at the pool 07:16
• That friend implicated his brother Elijah, who had a record and an outstanding statutory rape warrant 18:20
• Elijah confessed he was present when Mercedes drowned and helped cover it up; condom DNA matched only him, and Chase was cleared 26:33
• Though ruled a homicidal forcible drowning, Elijah pleaded guilty in November 2025 to concealing a death, drawing six years prison plus four probation—leaving the family feeling justice fell short 29:48
The case ended without a murder conviction, and Elijah's silence deepened the family's grief.
